DETECTIVES have appealed to the public for information following a serious assault in a park inCurrie, Edinburgh.
A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after beingattackedby two male youths inPentlandView Park in Currie at around 3:30pm last Tuesday.
The boy’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, despite the seriousness of the crime.
Police have said that the attackers are both believed to be 17-18 years of age and have launched a full enquiry to establish the circumstances.
Both attackers were described as white with short, dark hair and no visible facial hair.
One was described as 5ft 8in tall with a medium build, short black hair, and may have been wearing a grey tracksuit.
The other is thought to be taller, standing at 6ft with a slim build, short, dark brown hair and may have been wearing a black top and black shorts.
DC Beverley Burnside said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and speak with officers.
“We are also appealing to anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage who was driving in the area at the time of the incident to see if they have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
Anybody with information relevant to the investigation is being asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2439 of 16 October.
Pentland View Park is a public park in Currie on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
As its name suggests, the park directly borders the Pentland Hills Regional Park south of the capital.
