The former chat show host, 67, has given a rare glimpse into her reported $30million (£22.5m)Cotswoldshome, having relocated with wife Portia de Rossi fromCalifornia, a decision that was motivated by escapingDonald Trump.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show starshared a video of her two small dogs playing in a large open plan kitchen and living room, complete with huge muted, patterned carpets and various beige seating areas.

‘They’ve finally figured it out. We’ve all been sad since losing Augie,’ DeGeneres wrote in the caption of the video showing the dogs zooming around their house, referring to their rescue dog who died in May.

‘Sport has brought so much joy into the house and it makes us so happy to see Kid play again, even though he has a very unique style of play.’

On her estate many animals roam, including handy, grass-cutting sheep, horses and chickens.

‘When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses. We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them,’ the comedian recently said.

When asked about whether Trump was the reason for her move across the pond at the Everyman theatre in nearby Cheltenham in July, Ellen simply replied, as reported by theBBC: ‘Yes.’

‘We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, “He got in”,’ she said. ‘And we’re like, “We’re staying here”,’ Ellen said, having originally planned for their Cotswolds house to be a part-time residence.

Ellen DeGeneres controversy explained

After allegations of a toxic workplace culture on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the star apologised on air and her show was pulled in 2022 after 19 years.

Since stepping down from her show, which ended every episode with a message to ‘be kind’, Ellen has rarely been seen on TV, but did return to the stage and acknowledged the controversy.

‘What else can I tell you? Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business. There’s no mean people in show business,’ she said, as reported by TMZ.

She continued: ‘The hate went on for a long time and I would try to avoid looking at the news. The “be kind” girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.

‘I became this one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps … Would a mean person dance up steps? Had I ended my show by saying, “Go f*** yourself”, people would’ve been pleasantly surprised.’

Explaining her feelings towards the situation further, she said: ‘Honestly, I’m making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating, really. I just hated the way the show ended.

‘I love that show so much and I just hated that the last time people would see me is that way.’

‘It’s absolutely beautiful,’ she said of her Cotswolds home. ‘We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture – everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.

‘It’s clean. Everything here is just better – the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.

‘We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here.’

The comedian was one of the biggest names in Hollywood showbiz for 30 years, with her long-running daytime chat show, a 1990s sitcom, and for hosting awards shows including theOscars.
