Bethesda’sFalloutDay livestream has announced anniversary editions for Fallout 4 and Fallout: New Vegas, but they’re not what fans have been hoping for.

Today is the second annual celebration of Fallout Day, with October 23 being the date that theUSandChinadecided to nuke each other in the franchise’s fictional history (following the US annexingCanada, which all seems disturbingly topical at the moment).

Not much got announced last year, and so anyone hoping for a hint aboutFallout 5must’ve known they were going to be disappointed this time round. Although director and producer Todd Howard did put in an appearance and made a very vague allusion to new games, without ever being specific about what they were.

Instead, the two big announcements were for new versions ofFallout 4andFallout: New Vegas, but despite what it at first seemed, they’re not remasters.

Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition is to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary and will including all six official expansions, 150+ pieces of Creative Club content (some of which is brand new), and the addition of fan-made and professional Creations.

The Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition will be released on November 10 forXboxOne, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S,PlayStation 5, and PC. ANintendoSwitch 2 version is also planned for sometime next year.

Bethesda clearly wanted to make it look like an equivalent to the hugely successfulOblivion Remasteredbut there was no suggestion of any changes being made to the game, beyond the new Creations menu, and while there might be a new update patch even that wasn’t promised.

The Fallout: New Vegas 15th Anniversary Bundle was more obviously just a re-release and it’s only for PC. Why there’s no equivalent for consoles is a mystery, but the bundle is actually a fairly extensive collector’s edition, with statues, pin badges, and other merch included.

It’ll cost £139.99 and you canpre-order it here, with orders apparently being sent out in June 2026.

There have been occasional rumours of remakes or remasters forall three mainline Fallout gamesfor years now, but Bethesda has never shown any real interest in making them and if it’s not going to do it for these big anniversaries it’s increasingly possible they never will.

As for the rest of the Fallout Day broadcast, Fallout Shelter is also celebrating its 10th anniversary and will get a major new update that adds seasons (as in themed new content, not changes in the weather), with each one based around a different vault experiment.

Also, live service title Fallout 76 will be getting native Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions next year, while new expansion Burning Springs features Walter Goggins as The Ghoul – the character he plays in the Amazon Prime series.

Speaking of which, there was a short tease for Season 2, which will debut this year, although it was just the actors messing around in front of the camera, for a brief skit.

To summarise: it was all a bit of a nothing burger, but compared to the60 minutes Nintendo wasted today, saying absolutely nothing of note about Kirby Air Riders, it was at least succinct and to the point.
