But after two years, the couple has reportedly split, with Sophie moving on with the Yellow hitmaker, 48.
Sophie and Chris reportedly went on a ‘secret date’ in September after the actor and Perry split.
It comes after Chris split from actorDakota Johnsonaftereight years together, during which they got engaged in 2024.
A resurfaced video from 2020 reveals a unique connection between Sophie and Chris after the singer sent her a touching birthday message.
Organised by Joe, the video shows theJonas Brotherssinger sitting in a restaurant with his ex-wife, explaining he has a surprise for her.
‘I have someone who wants to say happy birthday,’ he says, before Chris begins speaking to Sophie over the phone.
Sophie holds her hands to her face in shock, exclaiming, ‘It’s Chris Martin.’
Chris went on to say: ‘This is Chris from Coldplay, I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band, have the best day, and I am sending you all my love, and I hope you’re having the best time.’
He blew a kiss to the camera before thanking Sophie for being awesome, leaving her visibly emotional.
‘I’m not going to cry on camera,’ she said, before high-fiving Joe and laughing over the absurdity of the call.
Joe and Sophietied the knot in 2019beforeannouncing their split in 2023andfinalising their divorce a year later.
Sophie and Perry sparked romance rumours after being spotted at Glastonbury Festival together in 2023, later confirming their relationship in December of the same year.
Chris and Dakota werefirst linked in 2017following his divorce fromGwyneth Paltrowin 2015, who he shares children Apple and Moses with.
A source told the Daily Mail that the couple split in June of this year, but that their relationship had been ‘over for a long time.’
‘Their relationship has been over for a long time; they just haven’t been able to figure out how to make it official,’ the insider claimed.
‘Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much.’
They continued: ‘Breakups aren’t instant, and they continued to breakup and make up and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they’d get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren’t right for each other anymore.’
