Katie Priceseems to have spoken out about her ex-husbandKieran Haylerafter he was recentlycharged with raping a 13-year-old girlwhen they were an item.
The mum-of-five took to the stage this evening at the Clapham Grand inLondonfor An Evening With Katie Price &Kerry Katona, and got straight into talking about her traumatic childhood.
The 47-year-oldhasn’t held back on stageover the last few months, evenrevealing the name of the British TV star she alleged rapedher some 20 years ago, having previously vowed to keep their identity under wraps.
Katie and Kerry sat side-by-side in the South London venue, whereMetrowas also in attendence, and the former opened up about the moment she lost her virginity at the age of 15 to an unnamed 25-year-old, who in hindsight, she said had ‘groomed’ her.
‘When I look back, that was wrong. I suppose he groomed me really,’ she said, adding: ‘He used to beat me up, cut my clothes up. My mum had to keep calling the police.’
Katie then explained that her early traumatic encounters with men – which also included asexual assault when she was just seven– have impacted her adult relationships, something she’s discovered during therapy.
‘That’s why now I’m so protective of my own kids, especially in today’s world withcrimeand stuff. I worry about Princess with photographers and things like that,’ she said.
Katie then appeared to make a nod to her ex-husband, and the recent news that he’s been charged with three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl.
‘What I’ve gone though, and – how do I word it – current news, I had a real reason to be wary of things because it’s closer to home than you realise. I can’t say anymore on it but I’m sure you know what I’m getting to,’ Katie said on stage, cryptically.
Last week Sussex Police confirmed that the alleged offences Hayler is charged with took place between June and October 2016, while he was married to the former glamour model and TV personality.
The alleged victim is not related to either Katie Price or Hayler.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said on Monday night, according to The Sun: ‘We can confirm Kieran Hayler, 38, of Northchapel in West Sussex, has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl.
‘The offences are alleged to have occurred at an address in West Sussex between June 1 and October 13, 2016. Hayler remains released under investigation and is due to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on November 19.
‘The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has received support from specially trained officers as our enquiries continue.’
Hayler, a personal trainer and former stripper, was married to Price from 2013 until their split in 2018. The pair share two children together.
Hayler’s legal representative said on Monday, according to MailOnline: ‘Kieran Hayler strongly denies the allegations made against him in their entirety.
‘Mr Hayler is fully engaged and has been co-operating with the police throughout the investigation and will continue to do so. He looks forward to his name being cleared, believing in the judicial system to do so.’
Hayler and his fiancée, Michelle Penticost, split in February after seven years together. They share a three-year-old son.
