Kelowna in the fall is a season of delightful contradictions. One moment, a cool mist clings to the surface of Okanagan Lake, promising the arrival of winter. The next, the sun warms your skin, inviting you to linger over an iced coffee as if summer never left.

Recently, we sought out these small adventures close to home. A walk along the Mission Creek Greenway revealed the spectacle of the fall salmon run. The water pulsed with flashes of crimson as the fish battled upstream, a primal energy filling the air.
We weren’t alone in appreciating the bounty of the season. Bears, too, were drawn to the creek, taking advantage of the salmon’s journey. A heightened awareness of our surroundings added an edge to the beauty of the trail, a blend of forest shade and open sunlight.
Another day found us seeking a quieter pace, wandering through a local park with warm drinks in hand. The simple pleasure of watching seniors walk their dogs and leaves drift across the grass offered a different kind of fall magic.
