A woman is clinging to life after a brutal stabbing in Toronto early Friday morning. Police responded to the intersection of Broadview and Danforth Avenues just before 7:00 a.m., finding a female victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services rushed the woman to a local hospital, where she continues to fight for her life. A male suspect was quickly apprehended near the scene, but details regarding the individuals involved and any potential connection between them remain scarce.
Meanwhile, in Oshawa, authorities are urgently searching for a second suspect following a separate stabbing incident on Monday afternoon. The victim, whose age has not been released, was discovered with stab wounds and transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries, though her condition is not currently life-threatening.
This Oshawa attack isn’t isolated. Investigators believe the two suspects are connected to two prior stabbings in the city, resulting in minor injuries to two other victims. The pattern of violence has sparked a widespread search and heightened community concern.
One suspect, 30-year-old Sharlie Bloxam of Oshawa, was arrested Wednesday without incident. He now faces a litany of charges, including assault, weapons offenses, uttering threats, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The second suspect, 31-year-old Jose Lopez, remains at large and is considered dangerous. Lopez is described as Hispanic, with a medium build, short brown hair, and a goatee. Police are advising the public not to approach him under any circumstances.
Lopez is wanted on a staggering number of charges, including twelve counts of failing to comply with probation and six counts of disobeying a court order. He also faces three counts each of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, adding to the urgency of his capture.
