HYATT CYBER MONDAY BLOWOUT: 15% CASH BACK – DON'T MISS OUT!

HYATT CYBER MONDAY BLOWOUT: 15% CASH BACK – DON'T MISS OUT!

The thrill of maximizing travel rewards is a pursuit many understand, a quiet game of stacking benefits for future adventures. Recently, a new piece fell into place: Hyatt joined the Rakuten portal, initially offering a 3% return on stays within the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It was a welcome addition, but the story didn’t end there.

Then came Cyber Monday, and a surge of opportunity. Rakuten dramatically increased its Hyatt cashback offer to a remarkable 15% on bookings initiated through their site. But the real power lay in the flexibility – the option to convert that cashback into valuable American Express Membership Rewards or Bilt Rewards points, effectively earning 15 points per dollar spent.

However, a few key details needed attention. This offer applied only to North American stays, and excluded bookings paid with points or gift cards. Patience was also required; rewards wouldn’t appear until *after* the stay was completed. These were minor considerations, overshadowed by the potential gains.

For those new to Rakuten, an additional bonus awaited: a $50 cashback reward after spending $50 within the first 90 days. This could be layered on top of the already impressive Hyatt offer, creating a truly compelling incentive to explore the portal.

The opportunity arrived perfectly timed with a planned trip to New Mexico. A stay at Hotel Willa in Taos, a beautifully renovated 1960s motel now part of Hyatt’s partnership with Mr & Mrs Smith, seemed ideal. The hotel boasted an artist-in-residency program and a farm-to-table restaurant, Juliette, promising a unique experience.

The strategy was simple: begin the booking process on Rakuten’s Hyatt page, then complete it directly through Hyatt’s website. This allowed for leveraging both the 15% Rakuten reward and the standard Hyatt points earnings. A two-night stay in a deluxe king room totaled $360, plus $51.05 in taxes and fees.

Anticipating a $54 cashback reward on the room rate alone, the decision to convert those earnings into Bilt points was a game-changer. Valued at 2.2 cents apiece, those 5,400 points translated to roughly $118 – a significant boost to the overall return.

The potential didn’t stop there. Bilt Rewards points transfer to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, meaning those 5,400 points could be saved for a future free night, potentially in 2026. It was a clever way to double-dip into the Hyatt ecosystem.

Adding another layer to the rewards, the booking was made with a World of Hyatt Credit Card. This triggered an additional 9 points per dollar spent – 4 bonus points and 5 base points, plus a 10% bonus for Discoverist elite status. This added a further 8,820 World of Hyatt points to the total.

The final tally was impressive: 8,820 Hyatt points and 5,400 Bilt points from a single two-night stay. Considering standard points bookings for Hyatt Category 2 hotels start at 8,000 points per night, this stay effectively unlocked a future free night, or a substantial contribution towards a more luxurious redemption.

The addition of Hyatt to Rakuten has unlocked a new level of reward stacking. By combining credit card earnings, World of Hyatt membership benefits, and the Rakuten cashback offer, travelers can now significantly accelerate their points accumulation and unlock even more incredible experiences.
