For nearly seven years, Vincent Chan appeared to be a trusted figure at a north London nursery. He blended into the background, a seemingly ordinary man entrusted with the care of vulnerable children. The unraveling began with a seemingly innocuous act: Chan filmed a child falling asleep during mealtime, setting the scene to music. He then showed the clip to a colleague, a callous disregard that sparked initial suspicion. A search of Chan’s home revealed a digital abyss of depravity. Dozens of devices contained “substantial amounts” of indecent images and videos, depicting some of the most severe forms of child abuse.
