A joyous Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, transformed into a scene of unimaginable horror as a father and son unleashed a brutal attack, leaving sixteen people dead – including one of the perpetrators – and forty others wounded.
New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon revealed the shocking details: a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son were responsible for the terror. The father died at the scene, while the son remains hospitalized in critical, yet stable, condition. Investigators currently believe they were acting alone.
The scale of the tragedy is devastating, with victims ranging in age from just ten years old to eighty-seven. The attack occurred during “Chanukah By The Sea,” an annual event marking the first day of Hanukkah with the lighting of the Menorah’s first candle.
