York Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect following an alleged sexual assault in Richmond Hill. The incident occurred on December 10th around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Red Maple and High Tech Roads, involving a minor.
Investigators report that a male suspect approached the victim at a local business and allegedly committed an indecent act, along with unwanted sexual touching. The suspect is described as having a medium complexion and dark brown hair, with a noticeable moustache.
He was last seen wearing a distinctive mustard-colored jacket, a dark undershirt, a grey tuque, and black shoes. Anyone with information regarding this individual is urged to come forward and assist the investigation.
Meanwhile, Halton Regional Police have charged a registered massage therapist with sexual assault. The alleged assault took place during a massage appointment at “Be Pampered Spa” on Guelph Line in Burlington.
Li Ming Qu, 69, of Toronto, also known as “Leslie,” was arrested on Monday and faces one count of sexual assault. He is currently employed at another “Be Pampered Spa” location within Burlington.
Police believe there may be other potential victims and are actively seeking information. Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit.
In a separate incident, Peel Regional Police are requesting public help in solving a shooting that took place in Brampton earlier this month. On December 3rd, at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near Martin Byrne Road and Countryside Drive.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. However, the suspect remains at large and is believed to be armed and dangerous, prompting a warning to the public to call 911 immediately if spotted.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer-model black Honda Civic, last seen traveling westbound on Countryside Drive. Investigators are specifically requesting residents and business owners in the area of Countryside and Goreway to review any security or dashcam footage from the night of December 3rd between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m.
Any sightings of the Honda Civic or its occupants could prove crucial to the investigation. Those with information are asked to contact the 21 Division CIB directly.
