BLACKBERRY IS BACK: Android Just Dropped Its Killer.

BLACKBERRY IS BACK: Android Just Dropped Its Killer.

A ghost from the tech past has been resurrected. Remember the satisfying click of a physical keyboard on a Blackberry? Clicks is bringing that feeling back with the Communicator, a pocket-sized device designed for those who crave tactile feedback in a world of glass screens.

This isn’t meant to replace your smartphone, but to complement it. Imagine a dedicated hub for instant communication – a device stripped down to essentials, focused on quickly handling messages, emails, and urgent notifications. The Clicks Communicator aims to be that streamlined, always-ready companion.

One of the most intriguing features is the “Signal LED,” a customizable notification light encircling the side button. Assign colors to specific contacts or apps, and instantly know what demands your attention without endless scrolling. It’s a visual cue designed to cut through the noise of constant digital pings.

Forget the traditional app grid. Clicks, in partnership with Niagara Launcher, has created a messaging-centric home screen. All your pending alerts are neatly organized, ready to be addressed with the satisfying press of a physical key. It’s a deliberate shift away from app overload.

The keyboard itself is central to the experience. Clicks promises larger, improved keys compared to their previous keyboard case. A dedicated “Clicks” key offers customizable shortcuts, while the spacebar cleverly integrates a fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking. Even the keypad is touch-sensitive, allowing for effortless scrolling.

Beyond the keyboard, the Communicator boasts a surprisingly robust feature set. A 4.03-inch OLED touchscreen provides a familiar interface when needed, alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card support for up to 2TB of expandable storage. It’s powered by a 4nm MediaTek chip with 5G connectivity.

The device isn’t shy about its imaging capabilities either, featuring a 50-MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 24-MP front-facing camera. It supports Qi2 wireless charging and includes a USB-C port, offering a modern connectivity experience.

For those not ready to commit to a second phone, Clicks also unveiled a magnetic wireless power bank with a sliding physical keyboard – the “Power Keyboard.” This innovative accessory combines portable power with the tactile joy of physical keys, connecting wirelessly to your existing devices.

The Power Keyboard isn’t just for smartphones. It’s compatible with tablets, TVs, and even gaming consoles, offering a versatile input solution. While its 2,150mAh battery and 5W Qi wireless charging are modest, the slower charging speed minimizes overheating.

While other power banks offer faster charging and larger capacities, Clicks is betting on the unique appeal of a built-in physical keyboard. It’s a niche product, but one that speaks to a growing desire for more tactile and focused digital experiences.
