JOSHUA'S LAST-SECOND MOVE SAVED HIS LIFE—You Won't Believe What It Was!

JOSHUA'S LAST-SECOND MOVE SAVED HIS LIFE—You Won't Believe What It Was!

The seconds stretched into an eternity for Anthony Joshua. Moments before a devastating crash in Nigeria, he narrowly avoided a fate shared by two cherished members of his team. The tragedy unfolded on Monday, claiming the lives of Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, friends and colleagues who had been integral to Joshua’s journey.

Joshua, remarkably, escaped with minor injuries. Emerging details reveal a chilling twist of fate: a last-minute seat swap. Just before impact, the 6’6” heavyweight had exchanged places with Latif Ayodele, moving from the front passenger seat to the back, prompted by concerns about obstructing the driver’s view.

The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, now faces serious charges, including causing death by dangerous driving. However, he maintains his innocence, claiming a catastrophic brake failure led to the collision with a stationary truck. His lawyer revealed the seat change was suggested because Joshua’s size hindered visibility.

The courtroom heard a startling account: the driver had been asked to move Joshua to the back. The request stemmed from a simple, yet crucial, issue – the wing mirror was blocked by the boxer’s imposing frame. This seemingly minor adjustment proved to be a heartbreaking difference in the aftermath of the crash.

Latif Ayodele, known affectionately as ‘Latz,’ was more than just a trainer; he was a steadfast friend and a dedicated man of faith, having converted to Islam in 2012. Images and videos flooded social media, showcasing his close bond with Joshua, a testament to years spent together in the gym and beyond. A poignant video, shared just hours before the tragedy, captured their laughter over a friendly game of table tennis.

Sina Ghami, Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach for over a decade, was the co-founder of Evolve Gym. He was a specialist in musculoskeletal injuries, a vital support throughout Joshua’s career, including his iconic victory against Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley. His final social media post was a glimpse of Joshua’s motorcade winding through the streets of Lagos.

The news reverberated through the sports world, with tributes pouring in from athletes like Sonny Bill Williams, who also benefited from Ayodele’s expertise. Both men were described as quiet forces, working tirelessly behind the scenes to propel Joshua to the pinnacle of boxing.

Joshua was discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve, but the physical recovery pales in comparison to the emotional toll. His mother, Yeta Odusanya, rushed to his side, and together they paid their respects at a funeral home in Lagos, preparing their friends for the journey home to the UK.

A statement from regional governments confirmed Joshua’s release, acknowledging his profound grief. The loss of Ghami and Ayodele has left an undeniable void, a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the enduring power of friendship.
