FREELAND'S BETRAYAL: Canada or Ukraine – WHICH SIDE IS SHE ON?!

FREELAND'S BETRAYAL: Canada or Ukraine – WHICH SIDE IS SHE ON?!

A conflict of interest has emerged, demanding immediate action from Chrystia Freeland. Recently appointed as an economic advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, her continued role as a Member of Parliament for University-Rosedale in Toronto presents an untenable situation.

Serving two governments simultaneously – Canada and Ukraine – inevitably creates divided loyalties. While both nations may share common goals, their specific interests will, at times, diverge. This raises the question of where Freeland’s primary allegiance truly lies when faced with conflicting priorities.

Consider a scenario where Freeland, influenced by Zelenskyy, advocates for significant Canadian investment in a Ukrainian tourism project, like the Goro Ski Resort. While beneficial for Ukraine’s economy, such a project might not align with Canada’s strategic reconstruction priorities, potentially misdirecting crucial funds.

Chrystia Freeland

Freeland’s departure from Canadian politics is already underway. She has accepted the position of Warden of the Rhodes Trust in London, England, and has already established a residence there, purchasing properties and securing mortgages. This move signals a clear shift in focus away from her duties in Canada.

The reality is, effectively representing a Toronto constituency while residing in London is virtually impossible. Her Toronto constituency office operates by appointment only, and attempts to reach her for comment have been met with unanswered calls and emails, leaving constituents without a voice.

This situation isn’t isolated. Sources suggest a coordinated effort within the current Liberal government to engineer a series of by-elections, with several prominent figures potentially departing for international postings. Bill Blair is rumored to be heading to London as High Commissioner, and others are being considered for ambassadorial roles.

The strategy appears to be a calculated gamble: a show of strength by winning multiple by-elections, potentially even securing a majority government. However, Freeland’s dual role has brought this plan into the spotlight, exposing the complexities and potential messiness of the maneuver.

While other departures remain speculative, Freeland’s appointment to advise a foreign government is now public knowledge. The current arrangement is unsustainable and demands a resolution. It’s time for Freeland to prioritize integrity and fulfill her responsibility to her constituents by resigning her position as Member of Parliament.

The people of University–Rosedale deserve full and dedicated representation, not a Member of Parliament whose attention is divided between two nations and a new life overseas. A swift and decisive resignation is the only ethical course of action.
