The footage, reportedly taken shortly before the crash, appears to show a vehicle traveling at a terrifying speed, exceeding 120 mph.

The tragedy unfolded on Wigan Road, leaving a community reeling and families shattered. Masrob Ali, 54, has been identified as the taxi driver who perished in the impact. His daughter spoke of her horror, stating it was clear her father was not at fault and expressing the agonizing thought of his final, terrifying moments.

The scene was one of utter devastation. Witnesses described a deafening crash, followed by frantic attempts to administer CPR. One resident recounted seeing a woman emerge from the taxi, while others remained unconscious inside. Emergency services faced a particularly challenging scene, working tirelessly through the night.

A 29-year-old woman, a passenger in Mr. Ali’s taxi, sustained potentially life-threatening injuries. Two others, aged 28 and 30, suffered serious wounds, and another passenger, 29, experienced minor injuries. An 18-year-old passenger from the other vehicle remains hospitalized with minor injuries as well.

Police are meticulously investigating the cause of the “terrible” crash, appealing for witnesses and urging the public to refrain from sharing potentially damaging footage on social media. Authorities warned that distributing such content could constitute a criminal offense, compounding the grief of those affected.

Detective Inspector Andrew Page emphasized the sensitivity of the situation, acknowledging the profound impact on all involved families. He requested anyone with information – including dashcam or CCTV footage – to come forward and assist the investigation.
