A brazen theft shook a Windsor dealership in the early hours of January 4th, leaving investigators searching for a distinctive pickup truck. Surveillance footage revealed a dark-coloured Dodge Ram 1500 entering the parking lot of a business on Provincial Road, near Division Road, just after 2 a.m.
The truck didn’t linger. It moved directly to the rear of the building, positioning itself beside a pristine white Dodge Charger. Moments later, occupants exited the Ram, and a calculated operation began – the systematic removal of the Charger’s wheels.
With the stolen property in tow, the suspects swiftly departed, leaving behind a vehicle sitting awkwardly on its frame. The estimated value of the stolen wheels reached $4,000, prompting a focused investigation by Windsor police.
The suspect vehicle itself was easily identifiable, despite its damage. Police described a Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, conspicuously missing a front bumper and the entire left-side rail. This unique description proved crucial in the search.
On Saturday afternoon, Windsor police announced a significant breakthrough: the suspect vehicle had been located. The recovery marks a key step forward in the investigation, bringing authorities closer to identifying and apprehending those responsible for the theft.
Anyone with information regarding the incident, or who may have observed the suspect vehicle before or after the theft, is encouraged to contact the Windsor Police Service Target Base Unit. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers.
