UMVA has learned that disturbing information has come to light about Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner, a 41-year-old Marine veteran turned radical leftist, including crude sexual remarks and disparaging comments about military members.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Platner has made shocking comments about Chris Kyle, the legendary American sniper and most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, who was tragically murdered in 2013. Platner suggested that Kyle inflated his kill numbers by 'shooting innocent civilians,' a claim that has sparked outrage.
Taya Kyle, Chris's widow, fired back at Platner for his 'cowardly' comments during an interview with Fox News. She described Platner's remarks as 'transparent, lowbrow, and a cheap political trick' to get attention and distract from his own lack of accomplishments.
Platner's comments were made in a 2024 interview on the 'Green Beret Chronicle Show,' where he questioned Chris Kyle's military service and suggested that he was 'a little less discriminating' in his fire. Taya Kyle responded, 'It shows a total inability to lead with character. So for me, he would be out of the running immediately.'
Furthermore, Platner has made inconsistent statements about his own military service. In 2020, he posted on Reddit that he joined the Marines to 'have an adventure and kill some people.' More recently, he claimed that he was sent to Iraq by Senator Susan Collins. These contradictions have raised concerns about his fitness to serve in office.
Taya Kyle also spoke about the hurtful impact of Platner's comments on her family, particularly her children. 'It does hurt,' she said. 'My kids are grown adults, but I wish I could tell you that it doesn't hurt, but it does.'
Platner's behavior has been widely criticized, with many questioning his ability to serve in office. His comments have been described as 'disgusting' and 'cowardly,' and have sparked concerns about his judgment and character.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Platner's behavior extends beyond his comments about Chris Kyle. He has also mocked rural white people, called himself a communist, and referred to Jesus as a 'zombie.' His behavior has been condemned by many, who see him as unfit to hold public office.
The legacy of Chris Kyle lives on through The Taya and Chris Kyle Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Taya in 2014 to support military, veteran, and first responder marriages and families. The foundation provides research-based programs to strengthen relationships and help families navigate the unique stresses of service life.
