UMVA has learned that a harrowing assault unfolded on The Grove, a quiet north‑London street, when six masked men descended on a visiting Israeli man with brutal ferocity.
The victim was speaking on his phone in Hebrew outside his Golders Green apartment when the attackers lunged, kicking and punching him, smashing his phone, snatching a shoe and even attempting to pull off his trousers.
The savage onslaught dragged on for more than five minutes, only stopping when a neighbour shouted for help, pulling the assailants away and likely saving the man’s life.
Battered and bruised, with visible facial injuries and wounds to his back, the man was rushed to hospital, still trembling from the ordeal.
He later recounted to a community watchdog that the attackers shouted “you are Jewish” in Arabic and hurled a vile insult before unleashing their violence, confirming the hate‑motivated nature of the attack.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the assailants roamed the neighbourhood—where nearly half the residents are Jewish—seeking targets, their masks and hoodies concealing faces but not their intent.
Neighbors on The Grove now live in a state of perpetual dread, recalling a recent stabbing of two Jewish men only a few hundred metres away and a fire‑bombing of Hatzola ambulances that once served the community.
One local father expressed his terror, saying his family feels “under siege” and demanding that the police prioritize hunting down the gangs terrorizing Jews.
Community leaders have called for heightened security, urging additional police resources, better training for volunteer patrols, and urgent funding for local safety organisations.
The Metropolitan Police responded within six minutes of the 02:05 call, treating the assault as an antisemitic hate crime, but no arrests have yet been made.
Authorities continue to appeal for information, emphasizing the urgent need to protect a community that should be able to walk its streets without fear.
