Stephen Libby, emerging victorious from the latest season of *The Traitors*, revealed a surprising behind-the-scenes detail: he declined a request to film a shower scene.
Libby and fellow Traitor Rachel Duffy successfully deceived their fellow contestants, splitting the substantial £95,750 prize pot – each taking home £47,875. The win capped off a game filled with deception and strategic maneuvering.
During an interview, Libby explained that producers had initially broached the subject of a shower scene as a potential element during the Traitors’ deliberation moments. He’d tentatively agreed before even meeting his fellow cast members.
However, his perspective shifted dramatically upon meeting the other contestants. Faced with the impressive physiques of Jack, Ross, Sam, and Matty, Libby reconsidered his initial willingness.
He ultimately informed producers he was no longer comfortable with the idea, acknowledging the strong physical presence of the other men in the cast. It was a decision born from a sudden wave of self-awareness.
Libby clarified that producers didn’t actively pressure anyone, but rather offered the opportunity to those who wished to participate. It seemed to be a voluntary option for those comfortable with showcasing themselves.
Fellow contestant Matty Hyndman playfully apologized to the nation for “taking this from” Libby, referencing his own scene involving a handstand in minimal attire. The lighthearted exchange highlighted the playful dynamic among the cast.
Libby wasn’t the first to face this proposition. Previous iterations of the show, including *The Celebrity Traitors*, featured shower scenes with participants like Olympic diver Tom Daley and a contestant named Freddie, who later jokingly apologized to his mother.
The request for such scenes offers a glimpse into the show’s production, revealing a willingness to explore potentially provocative content, while ultimately respecting individual boundaries.
