A second civil case has been initiated against Prince Andrew, this time by a woman represented by attorney Spencer Edwards. The allegations, echoing those previously made, paint a disturbing picture of abuse and exploitation linked to his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Edwards claims his client, who was in her twenties at the time of the alleged incident and is not a British citizen, was granted an extraordinary privilege following a night with the Prince: a private tour of Buckingham Palace. This detail underscores the alleged extent of Andrew’s influence and the perceived impunity surrounding his actions.
Prince Andrew has consistently and vehemently denied all accusations of wrongdoing related to his connection with Epstein. He previously settled a civil case with Virginia Giuffre in 2022, a settlement reached without any admission of liability and reportedly exceeding £12 million.
The timing of the new allegations coincides with the release of further documents from the “Epstein files,” including a particularly unsettling photograph. The image depicts Andrew in a compromising position, appearing on all fours above a woman lying on the ground, fueling renewed scrutiny and outrage.
Edwards expressed frustration with what he describes as a disconnect between Andrew and his legal counsel, a situation he attributes to the decision by King Charles to strip Andrew of his royal titles last year. He argues this action has paradoxically hindered efforts to provide compensation to victims.
According to Edwards, stripping Andrew of his titles allowed him to claim financial hardship, effectively shielding him from accountability. He contends that the Royal Family’s actions, intended to demonstrate concern for the victims, have instead had the opposite effect.
The lawyer revealed that communications existed between his client and the former prince prior to the alleged encounter. He is now actively considering filing a formal lawsuit on her behalf, seeking justice and redress for the harm she claims to have suffered.
The unfolding situation has drawn attention from political figures, including Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who suggested Andrew should testify before the US Congress regarding his relationship with Epstein. Starmer emphasized the paramount importance of prioritizing the needs and experiences of Epstein’s victims.
Starmer stated that any apology should come directly from Andrew, and that anyone possessing relevant information has a moral obligation to share it, emphasizing that a victim-centered approach demands transparency and accountability.
Requests for comment have been directed to Buckingham Palace and representatives of Prince Andrew, but a response has not yet been received. The case continues to develop, promising further revelations and potentially significant consequences.
