A quiet coffee shop in Orange County, California, concealed a shocking secret beneath its ordinary facade. DD Café, seemingly a typical establishment near a high school, was the subject of growing whispers and unsettling rumors.
An undercover investigation revealed a disturbing reality far removed from lattes and pastries. Reports surfaced of scantily clad performers, provocative lap dances, and a clandestine allowance of alcohol – all for an extra fee.
When confronted, a woman claiming to be in charge vehemently denied the allegations, insisting it was “only a coffee shop.” The owner remained unavailable for comment, leaving a cloud of suspicion hanging over the business.
However, local residents painted a drastically different picture. One resident bluntly described DD Café as a fully functioning strip club, a claim that fueled the mounting concerns about the establishment’s true nature.
The Garden Grove Police Department acted on these concerns, executing a search warrant at DD Café on February 5th. The raid resulted in seventeen arrests, signaling a decisive crackdown on alleged illegal activity.
Authorities “red-tagged” the business with the assistance of Code Enforcement, a designation indicating serious safety concerns or code violations. The café was effectively shut down pending further investigation.
The investigation uncovered a critical violation of local ordinances. Garden Grove Municipal Code explicitly prohibits adult entertainment businesses within 1,000 feet of a school.
DD Café was found to be dangerously close to La Quinta High School – a mere tenth of a mile away. This proximity raised serious questions about the potential impact on students and the surrounding community.
The situation at DD Café isn’t isolated. Locals reported the presence of several similar venues in the area, suggesting a broader pattern of questionable business practices and regulatory oversight.
