Teaching assistant ‘can’t remember why’ she spat in child’s face’

Teaching assistant ‘can’t remember why’ she spat in child’s face’

Another her for pinching another child’s nose after he stole chocolate from another pupil.

She admitted that she did this ‘so I could take the chocolate out of his mouth’.

After being questioned about whether she had been trained to do this, Pullia confessed she had not.

Despite acknowledging some of what she had done, she said the allegations did not take place as reported.

She was charged with four counts of child cruelty and found guilty in November 2025 at Maidstone Crown Court.

A 44-year-old mother of one of the children told Kent Online: ‘We didn’t have faith in the justice system at the time, but as soon as that first guilty count was announced, it started me off [crying] straight away.

‘We wanted justice. We don’t want any other child to go through what our children have gone through.’

Another added: ‘With non-verbal children, it’s difficult. It has meant the absolute world to me to be honest because I spent a long time trying to figure out why my child’s behaviour had changed.’

Detective Constable Hollie Kent said: ‘Pullia was entrusted with the care of vulnerable children and utterly failed in that responsibility.

‘Her actions have had a lasting impact on her victims, many of whom weren’t able to speak out for themselves as to what happened. We are very grateful to the families and guardians of the children affected for their support throughout our enquiries.

‘Pullia presents a danger to children and we are very pleased our investigation has stopped her from being around any for a long time.’
