RAMSAY'S NETFLIX DECEPTION: A Fan's Brutal Betrayal!

RAMSAY'S NETFLIX DECEPTION: A Fan's Brutal Betrayal!

Gordon Ramsay describes the making of his new documentary as “ripping off the bandaid.” It wasn’t a process of explosive reveals or fiery confrontations, but a slow, deliberate peeling back of layers he’d carefully constructed over decades.

The series begins with a surprisingly tender moment: a playful sword fight between Ramsay and his young son, Oscar. This intimate scene quickly shifts to a visit to the construction site of 22 Bishopsgate, a towering London skyscraper, hinting at the immense scale of his ambitions and the pressures that come with them.

The documentary offers glimpses into the Ramsay family’s everyday life, a world far removed from the screaming and stress of his television persona. It’s a portrait of a man grappling with his deepest fears, particularly the specter of repeating a distant relationship with his own father.

BEING GORDON RAMSAY | OFFICIAL TRAILER & KEY ART | ON NETFLIX 18TH FEBRUARY 2026 The six part documentary series follows one of the world?s most famous chefs in the lead-up to his biggest restaurant ventures to date: the opening of five culinary experiences in one of London?s tallest buildings, 22 Bishopsgate. The series has exclusive access to the Ramsay family, as Gordon balances other work commitments and the incredibly challenging build, with life as a husband and father, with wife Tana and their 6 children. Ramsay doesn’t shy away from his difficult upbringing, revealing a childhood marked by poverty in Glasgow, where food vouchers were a necessity. These early struggles fueled his relentless drive and shaped the man he became, a detail rarely explored with such vulnerability.

His wife, Tana, adds a touch of levity, playfully admitting she initially disliked him. These candid moments offer a refreshing contrast to the chef’s often-intense public image, revealing a complex and surprisingly relatable personality.

The series also provides a fascinating look behind the scenes of a Michelin-starred restaurant, from conception to execution. Ramsay acknowledges this venture as potentially his “last stake in the ground,” a poignant admission of the toll his career has taken.

Years of harsh criticism, including a particularly brutal newspaper headline labeling him a “failed footballer” and questioning his marriage, have left their mark. Yet, the documentary doesn’t dwell on these wounds, instead presenting them as part of a larger narrative.

Despite the wealth of personal history shared, a sense of distance pervades the series. Much of what’s revealed feels familiar, gleaned from countless interviews and previous television appearances. The public already knew of his dual nature – the demanding chef and the devoted family man.

The sheer volume of Ramsay’s professional life – managing over 90 restaurants and starring in multiple shows – inevitably leads to stress. But the documentary doesn’t fully explore the emotional weight of these commitments, leaving the viewer wanting more.

Ultimately, the series struggles to find its footing. It lacks the visceral energy of “Hell’s Kitchen” or “Kitchen Nightmares,” and it doesn’t delve deeply enough into the personal dramas that have recently unfolded in his family’s life.

Despite Ramsay’s claim that this is his “most raw” and honest work, the documentary maintains a carefully curated distance. While offering interesting anecdotes, it doesn’t quite break down the walls he’s spent years building. For devoted fans, revisiting classic episodes of “Kitchen Nightmares” might prove a more satisfying experience.
