GTA UNDER SIEGE: Massive Drug & Weapons Bust Takes Down 6!

GTA UNDER SIEGE: Massive Drug & Weapons Bust Takes Down 6!

A clandestine network dealing in dangerous substances and illegal weaponry has been dismantled across the Greater Toronto Area, culminating in the arrests of six men. The investigation, codenamed Project 8 Mile, began last fall with whispers of drug trafficking spreading through York Region and beyond.

Initial reports focused on two individuals, but the scope quickly broadened as investigators uncovered a wider operation extending into Georgina and neighboring communities. Authorities suspected a coordinated effort to distribute controlled substances, and the stakes were raised with the potential involvement of dangerous weapons.

Wednesday and Thursday saw coordinated raids at properties in Georgina, Toronto, and Vaughan. These searches yielded a significant haul: over $325,000 worth of illicit drugs, including cocaine, hydromorph-contin, methamphetamine, oxycocet, and MDMA, alongside a disturbing arsenal.

The recovered weapons included a firearm, a crossbow, and brass knuckles, alongside a substantial quantity of ammunition. More than $58,000 in cash was also seized, representing the profits fueling this illicit enterprise.

Jesse Miller, 38, of Vaughan, faces a complex web of charges, including fraud exceeding $5,000, identity theft, and possession of a prohibited weapon. His alleged involvement suggests a sophisticated attempt to conceal the operation’s financial trail.

Sean Pain, 38, of Georgina, is accused of possession for the purpose of trafficking and improper ammunition storage, highlighting the direct link to the distribution of illegal drugs. He also faces charges related to possessing property obtained through criminal activity.

 Project 8 Mile

Gary MacDonald, 43, of Toronto, confronts the most serious weapons charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage. He is also facing multiple counts related to drug trafficking and violating a prohibition order concerning crossbow possession.

Usama Hamid, 31, of Toronto, is charged with careless ammunition storage and possession of property obtained by crime, alongside multiple counts of possessing substances for the purpose of trafficking. His alleged role points to a key component in the supply chain.

Timothy Persaud, 40, of Toronto, shares similar charges with MacDonald, facing accusations of unauthorized firearm possession, careless storage, and multiple counts of drug trafficking and crossbow-related violations, alongside a breach of probation.

 Project 8 Mile

Kyle York, 31, of Toronto, is facing two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, suggesting a role in handling the financial gains from the illegal operation. The full extent of his involvement remains under investigation.

Investigators are urging anyone with information related to Project 8 Mile to come forward. Those wishing to provide details can contact York Regional Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously, contributing to the ongoing effort to dismantle criminal networks and ensure public safety.
