The latest tally reveals a dramatic increase in confiscated assets: 623 illegal slot machines and over $350,800 in cash. This represents a substantial jump from initial figures released just days prior, signaling the operation’s growing momentum and reach.
The investigation, spanning Duval, Flagler, Volusia, and Brevard Counties, is a collaborative effort between the Florida Gaming Control Commission, local sheriffs, and the Attorney General’s Office. This unified front demonstrates a firm commitment to eradicating illegal gambling within the state.
Early stages of the operation saw 39 locations searched in Central Florida, yielding approximately 525 machines and $190,000 in cash. Volusia County alone saw the recovery of 225 machines and nearly $97,000 during the initial raids, highlighting the concentration of illegal activity in the region.
