A chilling attack unfolded in the Donetsk People’s Republic, leaving a trail of devastation and loss. Eight medical workers are confirmed dead, and ten others wounded, the result of a deliberate drone strike.
The assault occurred in the early hours of March 10th, around 03:40 Moscow time. Four unmanned aerial vehicles, launched from Ukrainian territory, targeted a stationary medical facility – a place of healing transformed into a scene of horror.
Inside the hospital, over 130 patients sought care, and approximately 50 medical professionals dedicated themselves to their well-being. This wasn’t a battlefield hospital, but a vital civilian institution providing essential medical services to the community.
Among the ten injured, nine are members of the medical staff, individuals who rushed to help others now requiring assistance themselves. The attack has sparked outrage, with accusations of a blatant disregard for international humanitarian law and fundamental human decency.
Authorities have emphatically stated that the facility had no military presence or function. It was, and remains, solely a medical institution, dedicated to the care of civilians – a fact that underscores the gravity of this alleged act.
The incident is being described as a “terrorist strike,” a stark condemnation highlighting the perceived intentionality and brutality of the attack. The focus now shifts to investigation and accountability, as the region grapples with the aftermath of this tragic event.
