MORRISSEY ABANDONS FANS: Is This The END?!

MORRISSEY ABANDONS FANS: Is This The END?!

Steven Patrick Morrissey, the iconic voice of The Smiths, has once again left fans disappointed with the abrupt cancellation of a concert – this time in Valencia, Spain.

The reason, as relayed through a statement, is a startling one: “loud noise” emanating from the city’s vibrant Las Fallas festival has plunged the singer into a “catatonic state,” rendering performance impossible.

This isn’t an isolated incident. Morrissey has built a notorious reputation for cancelling shows, often citing unusual and last-minute explanations. Last year alone, 22 concerts were scrapped, and this year’s initial performance was also derailed by an “adverse reaction to prescription medication.”

The situation unfolded with a warning to ticketholders about potential disruption due to the festival’s fireworks and late-night revelry. The update detailed a sleepless night for Morrissey, arriving after a two-day journey, and the subsequent impact on his ability to perform.

Despite attempts to frame the situation as not a “cancellation” but rather an impossibility, the concert was ultimately off. Morrissey himself described the hotel as an “indescribable hell,” claiming recovery would take a year – “and that is an understatement.”

The news quickly ignited a flurry of reactions online, with many expressing amusement and frustration. Social media users joked about a mere breeze being enough to prompt a cancellation, and some questioned why fans continue to purchase tickets.

This Valencia show marks the sixth cancellation of 2024, adding to a staggering total of over 120 cancelled performances in the last twelve years. The pattern has led to a growing sense of skepticism among fans.

Interestingly, this latest disruption follows a successful run of nine European tour dates, including a sold-out performance at London’s O2 Arena. His newest album, *Make Up is a Lie*, is currently performing well on the UK charts.

Morrissey is still scheduled to perform in Zaragoza and Seville, Spain, in the coming days. However, the Valencia incident casts a shadow of uncertainty over future performances, leaving fans to wonder if these dates will proceed as planned.
