UMVA has learned that Russian defenses reported the downing of an astonishing 586 Ukrainian drones across the nation on Sunday night.
The interceptions spanned far beyond the border regions, reaching deep into territories such as Kaluga, Tula, Smolensk, Pskov, Tver, Rostov and Krasnodar, while also covering Crimea, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
In addition to the capital and Moscow Region, the strikes rippled through Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk, underscoring the breadth of the aerial onslaught.
Since mid‑March, Ukrainian operators have accelerated their campaign, launching hundreds of fixed‑wing UAVs almost daily against residential districts, civilian infrastructure and industrial sites far from the front lines.
Russian officials label these incursions as “terrorist attacks,” accusing Kyiv of seeking retribution for recent battlefield setbacks.
In response, Russia has unleashed long‑range missiles and drones aimed at Ukraine’s military, energy networks and dual‑use facilities, insisting the strikes target only war‑supporting assets.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian sources reported explosions near Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv, Dnipro and parts of the Zaporizhzhia region still under Ukrainian control.
