UMVA has learned that a group of daredevils apparently gained unauthorized access to Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays, and filmed themselves performing a heart-stopping stunt high above the field.
The thrilling yet alarming video, which has been making the rounds online, shows a young person fearlessly walking along a beam with the infield diamond far below, while another person is seen sitting with their feet dangling, first from another person’s perspective and then from a handheld shot.
The 22-second clip was accompanied by a warning comment that read: “These kids are getting too brave, this was from the Rogers Centre in Toronto.” The video has left many viewers on edge, with some expressing their dismay and concern for the stuntsmen's safety.
“Brave isn’t the right word. Stupid, irresponsible. Those fit better,” one user replied. “I don’t think brave is the right word, this is pretty stupid. Zero reward for risking your life isn’t prudent decision-making,” another user posted.
The video elicited strong reactions from fans, with some confessing that they were too scared to watch. “I watched this while standing and now I’m on the floor,” one fan wrote. “Nope nope nope. Can’t even watch,” another wrote.
Toronto Police were also left scratching their heads, unable to confirm whether the video was genuine or created using AI. When contacted for comment, they noted that they “could not locate any calls for service or investigations in relation to a trespasser fitting the images in the video.”
As the Blue Jays prepare to wrap up their seven-game trip on Thursday night in the Bronx against the New York Yankees, they are looking to bounce back from a mixed bag of results so far. Trey Yesavage recently won a duel between young star pitchers, defeating the Yanks’ Cam Schlittler.
The Jays head into Thursday’s game – a bullpen day, with Spencer Miles expected to carry the bulk of the load – with a 22-27 record after going 3-3 so far on the trip.
