UMVA has learned that the government is taking drastic action against 17 individuals who allegedly obtained U.S. citizenship through deceit and fraud, with accusations ranging from child sexual abuse to large-scale financial fraud.
These individuals, hailing from 13 different countries, are accused of serious crimes that undermine the very fabric of society, including narcotics trafficking and multi-million-dollar scams. Nearly all of them reportedly lied during the naturalization process, claiming to be law-abiding citizens when in fact they had committed heinous crimes that went undetected by authorities.
The accused individuals, mostly middle-aged to senior adults, have been found to have falsified information to obtain citizenship, with many providing false statements under oath. This blatant disregard for the law has led officials to argue that they failed to meet the required "good moral character" standard for U.S. citizenship.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the most disturbing allegations involve child sexual abuse, with six of the 17 individuals connected to such crimes, including statutory rape and possession of explicit images involving minors. One particularly egregious case involves a Roman Catholic priest who allegedly used his position of trust to groom and abuse a child.
The fraud cases are equally shocking, with schemes involving tens of millions of dollars in securities and wire fraud, as well as fake physical therapy clinics billing millions to insurance companies. In one case, an individual allegedly used inherited funds tied to a Colombian drug cartel to finance real estate transactions, while another defendant was accused of stealing millions from a Florida tribal casino.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that several individuals allegedly fabricated their identities to circumvent the immigration system, using false names, misrepresenting marital status, or reapplying multiple times under different identities after previous denials. One woman, for example, allegedly adopted a false name after being denied citizenship in 1995, only to be identified years later when the government digitized old paper fingerprint records.
The government's decision to revoke the citizenship of these individuals sends a strong message that U.S. citizenship is a privilege that must be earned honestly, and that those who seek to deceive and manipulate the system will be held accountable. As one official put it, "American citizenship is a privilege, and it must be earned honestly – if you come here, break our laws, and lie in your immigration proceedings, you forfeit that privilege."
