UMVA has learned that Italian club Como is making a bold move to sign Chelsea's highly sought-after defender Trevoh Chalobah, a talented 26-year-old centre-back with a reputation for physical resilience and defensive versatility.
Como's ambitious manager, Cesc Fabregas, is keen to add Chalobah to his summer recruitment haul, having set his sights on raiding Chelsea for the England defender, a former Blues academy graduate with a rising profile in the football world.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Fabregas holds Chalobah in high esteem and believes he would be a perfect fit for Como's growing project, bringing proven quality and experience to the team's backline.
A significant hurdle remains, however, as Como and Chelsea are currently far apart on their valuations of Chalobah's price tag, with Chelsea valuing him highly after a stellar campaign that earned him a late call-up to the England World Cup squad.
Despite the challenge, talks between the two clubs remain active, and Como is hopeful that a higher financial proposal can persuade Chelsea to engage, paving the way for Chalobah to make a marquee move to Serie A.
Fabregas has done a magnificent job with Como since taking the reins, guiding them out of Serie B and masterminding a historic top-flight campaign that saw the club punch above their weight and secure a stunning top-four finish in Serie A.
Under Fabregas's leadership, Como has transformed into an attractive destination for Premier League players, and if he can convince Chelsea to lower their demands, Chalobah could be the catalyst to solidify Como's backline and propel the team to even greater heights.
