Investigators have identified a section within a barn on the property where they believe multiple dogs were killed. More than 600 dog collars were recovered from the same location.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time. The sheriff’s office stated that if evidence supports violations of animal cruelty, fraud, or other applicable laws, the case will be forwarded to prosecutors for review and possible charges.
In a statement released to the rescue’s website, founder Shannon Miranda expressed concern that unverified allegations could damage both personal reputation and the organization’s long-standing service to the community. She emphasized the rescue’s mission to safely save animals while safeguarding families, children, other pets, and public safety.
