The Philippine fintech company GCash has made significant strides in providing financial services to the country's underserved population. As of the first quarter of 2026, the company's lending arm, Fuse Financing Inc., reported that over P406 billion in loans had been disbursed to more than 11.1 million unique borrowers.
The majority of these borrowers were first-time users of formal credit, who may have otherwise turned to loan sharks. This statistic highlights the impact of GCash's efforts in bringing millions of unbanked Filipinos into a safe and secure digital ecosystem.
According to Tony Isidro, president and CEO of Fuse, 85% of their borrowers are first-time users of formal credit. This achievement underscores the company's success in providing a legitimate financial lifeline to those in need, away from predatory practices.
The company's flagship cash loan product, GLoan, has been used by Filipinos to cover unexpected medical expenses, expand businesses, and finance their studies. GLoan has also helped shift the financial landscape by allowing Filipinos to borrow with dignity.
Through GLoan, users can borrow up to P150,000 with interest rates as low as 1.59% per month, and enjoy a simple approval process. The service is accessible through the GCash app and serves as a partner for Filipinos in pursuing their dreams.
The company's efforts have been recognized through the premiere of "GCash Stories: Kasama Mo Mangarap", the sixth installment of the GCash Stories series. This initiative highlights the impact of GCash's services on the lives of Filipinos and showcases the potential for financial inclusion in the country.
