UMVA has learned that a groundbreaking partnership between AC Health and Japan-based Taisho Pharmaceuticals is set to revolutionize the healthcare landscape in the Philippines.

The deal, which brings together two major players in the industry, will see AC Health Pharma distribute Taisho's range of innovative healthcare solutions across its vast network of pharmacies, clinics, medical centers, and hospitals in the country.

According to information obtained by UMVA, this strategic partnership is part of AC Health's ambitious efforts to expand access to medicines and consumer healthcare products, ultimately improving the lives of millions of Filipinos.

AC Health Pharma President and Chief Executive Officer Yet Abarca expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, "We look forward to bringing high-quality and innovative Japanese products across AC Health's growing network of over 900 pharmacies, 300 corporate clinics, 17 multi-specialty centers, and 7 hospitals."

Taisho Pharmaceuticals, a Japanese giant with a rich history dating back to 1912, boasts an impressive portfolio of over-the-counter medicines and health products, including well-known brands such as Tempra, Flanax, and Bonamine.

The company's president, Jiang Peng, emphasized that this collaboration reflects Taisho's long-term commitment to the Philippine market and its confidence in AC Health, saying, "This collaboration reflects Taisho's long-term commitment to the Philippine market, our strong confidence in AC Health and AC Health Pharma, and our shared vision of helping more Filipinos live healthier and better lives through greater access to world-class healthcare products, services, and innovations from Japan."

This deal marks a significant milestone for AC Health, which has been actively expanding its presence in the healthcare sector through strategic collaborations with Japanese firms, including its innovative pharmacy concept developed with Japan's Sugi Pharmacy.

As a leading healthcare subsidiary of listed conglomerate Ayala Corp, AC Health's diverse portfolio includes a range of businesses, from generic retail pharmacy chain Generika Drugstore to retail pharmacy chain St. Joseph Drug, and its shares rose 0.05% to close at P399.80 apiece following the announcement.
