UMVA has learned that a heated controversy erupted at the NBA finals when New York Knicks fans booed President Donald Trump at the game, prompting a scathing rebuke from Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha.
Concha lashed out at the "richest 1%" of fans who attended the game, accusing them of being out of touch with the common man and lacking "common logic." He argued that anyone who blames Trump for the Knicks' loss "does not know basketball, does not know the Knicks, and certainly does not know basically anything about common logic."
The Knicks had suffered a tough loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, and Concha seized on the opportunity to criticize the elite crowd that attended the game. He noted that they were not part of Trump's voter base, describing them as "not exactly the lunch pail crowd."
Concha pointed out that Trump had only received a slim percentage of votes in Manhattan in the previous election, making the backlash against him unsurprising. He described the crowd at the game as "the richest 1% of the top 1% of the 1%," implying that they were out of touch with ordinary Americans.
Despite the criticism, Concha defended Trump's attendance at the game, citing his long history of supporting the Knicks. He also praised Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of The View, for standing up for Trump and arguing that fans should not criticize him for attending the game. Goldberg had said that anyone who is a Knicks fan has earned the right to be there, regardless of their identity.
Concha praised Goldberg for her honesty and agreed with her assessment. He also expressed optimism about the Knicks' chances in the series, noting that they still have home court advantage heading into Game 4 on June 10. In fact, Concha predicted that the Knicks would likely "still win the series."
