UMVA has learned that Brooklyn Beckham marked a conspicuous absence on social media this Father's Day, with his family and wife taking to Instagram to celebrate the occasion, but the 27-year-old remained silent.
Despite the silence from Brooklyn, his parents, Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham, shared heartfelt posts on Instagram, with Lady Victoria posting a past holiday snap of Sir David with their children, including Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. The former Spice Girl wrote: ‘David you truly are the best daddy. Your greatest achievement has always been our beautiful children and we love you so much. Happy Father’s Day.’
Sir David also posted a series of photos, including a sweet snap with a young Brooklyn, and wrote: ‘Being a dad is my most important job… I love you all & thank you mummy @victoriabeckham for given [sic] me our beautiful family . Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads around the world .’
The public display of love and appreciation from his family comes amid a very public feud between Brooklyn and his parents, which began in January when Brooklyn made explosive claims that they had been ‘trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped’. He also alleged that his wife, Nicola Peltz, had been ‘disrespected’ by his family.
Brooklyn's wife, Nicola, joined in the Father's Day celebrations by posting a loving message for her own father, Nelson Peltz, on Instagram, writing: ‘You’ve taught me to be so tough and to never give up. I’m so lucky i get to be your daughter, you’re the best dad in the entire world.’
Meanwhile, Brooklyn's younger brothers, Cruz and Romeo, also wished their father a happy Father's Day on social media, with Cruz posting a picture of himself with David holding fish, and Romeo sharing two pictures of his younger self with his father.
The family feud has been making headlines for months, with Brooklyn recently making a pointed reference to the estrangement in a World Cup-themed advert for a US food delivery firm. The advert sparked backlash, with some critics accusing Brooklyn of 'monetising' the situation.
Victoria Beckham recently addressed the family feud in an interview, saying that she and David ‘love our children so much’ and have ‘always tried to be the best parents’. However, the tension between Brooklyn and his parents remains, with no clear end in sight.
