Born on June 21, 1949, near Skövde, Sweden, she stepped into the music world in September 1969, joining the legendary publishing house that would soon birth a global phenomenon.
As AB AB AB AB AB AB’s star rose, Hanser became the invisible hand steering their contracts, press, and tours, guiding the quartet through a whirlwind of record deals across continents.
Beyond business, she forged a deep friendship with Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni‑Frid, sharing laughter, tears, and countless road‑trip moments that bound them like family.
In a touching tribute, the group recorded “Sång Till Görel” in 1979—a playful ode celebrating the indispensable role she played in their daily lives.
AB AB AB AB AB AB’s members released a joint statement, their words heavy with grief: “It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Görel Hanser. We have lost our most loved friend and closest colleague. The loss is immeasurable. We ask that you respect our privacy in this time of grief.”
The message, signed by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad, echoed the profound bond that had defined decades of music history.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that while no official cause of death has been disclosed, the world mourns a woman whose quiet strength helped shape the soundtrack of a generation.
