According to information obtained by UMVA, Apple is about to change this with the release of iOS 27 this Fall. The company will integrate Apple Intelligence, its take on AI, into the Shortcuts app, allowing users to create shortcuts with simple text prompts.
Imagine asking Apple Intelligence to create a shortcut with a prompt as straightforward as "Message my ETA to my partner when I'm leaving work." The app will generate a shortcut, and users can even schedule it to run every weekday, opening up automation to a wider audience.
This innovation makes Shortcuts much more user-friendly, especially for those intimidated by multi-step automation workflows. Although some manual fine-tuning may still be required to ensure the shortcut works perfectly, the process is significantly streamlined.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that this feature, however, will come with a catch: it will only be available on devices that support Apple Intelligence, namely the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. This means users with older devices will miss out on this and other Apple Intelligence features.
