SSI Group, Inc. has nominated Roland Gerard “Junie” R. Veloso, Jr. for election to its board of directors at the upcoming annual stockholders’ meeting. The nomination replaces long‑serving independent director Carlo L. Katigbak, who is stepping down after reaching the maximum cumulative term allowed under Securities and Exchange Commission rules.
Katigbak will remain with the company as a special adviser to the board. His continued advisory role is expected to support the board during the transition.
The company expressed gratitude for Carlo’s outstanding service and contributions over 12 years. It also highlighted his willingness to continue advising the board.
Roland Gerard “Junie” R. Veloso, Jr. retired in 2025 after more than 30 years in the banking and financial services industry. His extensive experience spans multiple sectors within the industry.
Prior to retirement, Veloso served as president and chief executive officer of BPI Capital Corp., the investment banking arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands, and as chairman of BPI Securities Corp. These roles positioned him at the forefront of the country's capital markets.
During his 12 years with the BPI Group, he held senior leadership positions covering strategy, corporate banking, business banking, and corporate credit. His responsibilities included guiding the group’s growth and risk management strategies.
Before joining BPI, Veloso headed HSBC Philippines’ wholesale banking business, overseeing institutional, corporate, commercial, and transaction banking operations. His tenure there reinforced his expertise in large‑scale banking
