ANDROID USERS: CASH IS WAITING—CLAIM YOUR SHARE NOW!

ANDROID USERS: CASH IS WAITING—CLAIM YOUR SHARE NOW!

A significant financial recovery is unfolding for millions of Android users. A $135 million settlement has been reached, potentially putting money back into the pockets of those who used Android devices connected to cellular networks during a specific period.

The core of this settlement stems from allegations that Google collected user data unnecessarily. The lawsuit claimed that this data collection occurred in the background, even when apps were closed and location services were turned off – a practice that raised serious privacy concerns.

Google maintains it did nothing wrong, but opted to settle the class-action lawsuit. Beyond the substantial monetary payout, the agreement includes a commitment from Google to enhance transparency during the Android device setup process, providing clearer disclosures about data collection practices.

Who qualifies for a piece of this settlement? If you used an Android device connected via cellular data anywhere in the United States between November 12, 2017, and the date the settlement receives final approval – expected around June of this year – you likely qualify. Devices connecting solely through Wi-Fi are not included.

However, there’s a key exclusion. Residents of California who were part of a separate lawsuit, *Csupo v. Google LLC*, are not eligible to receive funds from this particular settlement.

The exact amount each person receives remains uncertain. It hinges on the total number of valid claims submitted. While payouts are capped at $100, the actual distribution could be considerably lower depending on the number of eligible participants – potentially reaching 100 million.

Eligible individuals should be receiving a notification, either by mail or email. Keep an eye on your spam folder, as the email subject line is “Class Action Notice of Settlement – Taylor v. Google LLC.”

Once you receive the notice, you’ll need to visit the settlement website and enter the unique notice ID and confirmation code provided. This allows you to select your preferred method of payment. While funds will be distributed automatically even if you don’t actively claim them, completing the process ensures you receive your share.

There’s a crucial deadline to be aware of: May 29th. This is the final date to object to the settlement or exclude yourself from the class. The court will hold a final approval hearing on June 23rd, solidifying the terms of the agreement.

If you have questions regarding your eligibility or the payout process, you can reach the settlement administrator directly at info@federalcellularclassaction.com. This represents a significant opportunity for Android users to receive compensation and a step towards greater data privacy.
