UMVA has learned that a unique hotel package has been unveiled at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington in Renton, Washington, offering aviation enthusiasts a chance to experience the thrill of being close to a working airplane factory.
The "Hangar Hideaway" package allows guests to stay in a lake-view room overlooking the Boeing Renton Production Facility, where over 40 narrow-body 737-MAX airplanes are produced every month. The package includes aviation-themed welcome amenities, such as a tote bag, a rubber 3D airplane puzzle, and Balsa wood stunt planes.
Guests who book the package will also receive four passes to Seattle's Museum of Flight, which houses the first Boeing 737 ever built. The museum is about 20 minutes from the hotel, offering a unique opportunity to explore the history of aviation.
The hotel's director of sales, events, and marketing, Tayna Zasada, said that the package was created in response to growing guest interest in experiential travel that connects people more deeply with place. The hotel's prime lakeside location offers a unique vantage point to take in aviation thrills right from the room or dock.
The Hangar Hideaway package includes a welcome letter that provides insight into the history of the Renton plant, which began producing aircraft in the early 1940s. The letter also offers a glimpse into what's happening with the aircraft visible outside the windows, including those taking their very first flights.
Guests are encouraged to glance toward the factory after 10 p.m., when aircraft are sometimes quietly moved out of the hangar – a unique behind-the-scenes moment few get to see. The package offers a chance to experience the excitement of being close to a working factory, without the need for a public tour.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the hotel's unique location has long been considered a niche, under-the-radar amenity, but now it's being leveraged to create a one-of-a-kind experience for aviation enthusiasts. The package is available for booking, with a special code "TAKEOFF" offering a discount.
The hotel's rooms offer stunning views of the factory, with some guests even spotting freshly made planes sitting outside the hangar waiting for finishing touches before heading next door to the Renton Municipal Airport for their test flights.
The package is an exclusive hotel offer and cannot be booked with World of Hyatt redemption points or certificates. However, guests can book a King Lake View corner room and request a view of the Boeing factory, even if they don't want to splurge on the bonus amenities.
