Channel 5 Presenter Faces Criticism for On-Air Reaction to Bonnie Tyler's Passing

Channel 5 Presenter Faces Criticism for On-Air Reaction to Bonnie Tyler's Passing

A Channel 5 presenter encountered a series of on-air blunders while announcing the death of singer Bonnie Tyler.

The 80s music legend died at the age of 75, with numerous tributes praising her extraordinary vocals and sparkling personality.

The presenter, Dani Sinha, struggled to deliver the news, starting with a mistake in the name of Tyler's iconic song, Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Sinha referred to the song as 'Total Of Eclipse' and also misspoke during her announcement, which included details about Tyler's recent health issues and upcoming tour.

The segment then cut to Bonnie performing the song, with the well-known lyrics '... Now I'm only falling apart.'

The camera abruptly cut back to the studio, where Sinha was caught rolling her eyes and shaking her head, seemingly frustrated by the technical errors.

Not everyone was sympathetic, with some viewers criticizing Sinha's handling of the news report, including the decision to air a clip of Bonnie singing the song.

Others defended Sinha, suggesting that she was likely rolling her eyes at the technical issues rather than Tyler's passing, and that mistakes can happen to anyone.

This incident is not the only recent case of a news channel making an error during a death announcement.

Earlier, a BBC news bulletin showed a graphic reading 'David Hockney resigns' after the artist's death, sparking widespread criticism.

Channel 5 has not commented on the incident.
