DREAM DESTROYERS BEWARE: Lawyer's Family Story Will Fuel Your FIRE! (Watch)

Standing on hallowed ground at Ellis Island, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon recently shared a deeply personal story with the Moms for Liberty group during their “America’s 250th” celebration.

Her remarks began after a heartfelt recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, a ritual profoundly meaningful to her as an immigrant. Though her family’s journey didn’t begin with footsteps on those iconic stairs – they arrived at JFK in 1970 – the spirit of seeking opportunity resonated just as strongly.

Dhillon recounted her parents’ courageous decision to leave India in the 1970s, a nation then aligned with Russia. They fled a system imposing strict population control and a stifling planned economy, determined to offer their children a future of freedom and possibility.

The greatest gift, she explained, wasn’t material wealth, but the chance to build a life in America. She vividly remembered becoming a naturalized citizen at age ten in Raleigh, North Carolina, a moment of immense pride for her father.

That pride only deepened years later. Dhillon’s father lived to witness his daughter become legal counsel for a former and potential future President of the United States – a testament to the power of the American Dream realized.

She described the support of her mother and brother during her Senate confirmation hearing, recalling how they watched her confidently address challenging questions. It was a moment of vindication, a demonstration of the strength she’d honed representing individuals against perceived overreach by the state.

Before joining the Department of Justice, Dhillon had built a reputation defending parents’ rights to control their children’s education and advocating for young people facing difficult circumstances. Now, she brings that same passion to her role on a national scale.

“This is an American success story,” she declared, her voice filled with emotion. Standing on Ellis Island, a symbol of hope and new beginnings, Dhillon expressed profound gratitude for the opportunities America had afforded her family.

Her story served as a powerful reminder of the enduring promise of the United States – a beacon of freedom and a land where dreams, with courage and determination, can truly take flight.
