President Donald Trump is calling on Republicans across Virginia and New Jersey to deliver ared waveat the ballot box, throwing his full support behind conservative candidates Winsome Sears for Virginia Governor, and Jack Ciattarelli for New Jersey Governor.
Marine-Corps veteran, immigrant from Jamaica, and Virginia’s first female Lieutenant Governor, Sears is making history as she vies for the governorship.
“I think [Winsome Sears] is very good, and I think she should win because the Democrat candidate is a disaster,” Trump told the reporters aboard Air Force One.
He continued, “I haven’t been too much involved in Virginia. I love the state. I did very well in the state. But I will tell you, I think the Republican candidate is excellent, and I think the Democrat candidate is a disaster. I watched her in the debate. She couldn’t answer the most basic question.”
The awful comments from Jay Jones, the Democrat running to be attorney general, shook up the debate between Spanberger and Republican Winsome Sears. The comments also flipped the polling in the race for AG.
Now, the Republican AG candidate Jason Miyares ispolling better than Democrat Jones, and Sears has also gained ground.
Trump also pledged his support for Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican nominee for governor in New Jersey in the upcoming November 4 election.
Jack Ciattarelli is making his third run for governor, and his evolution from moderate GOPer to Trump-aligned politician is now complete.
He’s embraced demands for voter-ID, sanctuary-policy eliminations, and slashing taxes in a state known for heavy burdens.
“A big thing with that race — and also the race in New Jersey — is going to be energy. Both of the Democrats are going to drive the energy prices through the roof. Through the roof! Your energy is going to double and triple. If the Republican gets elected, your energy is going to come down by 70 to 80 percent,” Trump said.
