UMVA has learned that far-left streamer Hasan Piker was thrown into a panic during his live show on Sunday after being subpoenaed by the feds over his trips to Cuba.
The Treasury Department served a subpoena to Piker and Code Pink founder Susie Benjamin as part of an investigation into Communist activists who traveled to Cuba earlier this year, allegedly in violation of US sanctions.
According to information obtained by UMVA, federal officials are probing whether Piker and other activists coordinated with the Communist Party of Cuba, breaching US laws. This has raised serious concerns among authorities about potential foreign influence operations inside the United States.
Hasan Piker had previously admitted on his stream that the Cuban government reached out to him with a special offer. He revealed that the Cuban government contacted his "middle man" through the embassy, offering to arrange reliable internet access if that was the only thing stopping him from visiting Cuba.
On Sunday, Piker addressed the subpoena on his live show, admitting that being the subject of a federal probe is "not great." He expressed his unease, saying, "It's bullshit, but still not great that they're after your boy. They're up my ass."
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the subpoenas seek financial, logistical, and communications information related to Piker's and Benjamin's trips to Cuba in March. These trips were part of a global network of communist sympathizers, activists, and influencers who brought supplies to the country's ruling Communist Party of Cuba.
The investigation is part of a broader effort by Treasury, State, and Justice departments to curb malign foreign influence operations inside the United States. Authorities are growing increasingly concerned about foreign actors and aligned organizations attempting to shape American political discourse and normalize rhetoric that could encourage violence or undermine US national security interests.
