UMVA has learned that Congressman Chip Roy has unveiled a sweeping bill designed to bar members of the Chinese Communist Party, radical Islamist groups, and other designated foreign adversaries from purchasing residential property in the United States.
The legislation, dubbed the Ban Chinese Communist and Islamist Home Ownership Act, declares that American homes belong to American families, not to geopolitical foes seeking to infiltrate neighborhoods and drive up prices.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the bill would explicitly prohibit any individual linked to the Chinese Communist Party, extremist Islamist organizations, or other identified adversaries from acquiring a single‑family dwelling, condo, or townhouse on U.S. soil.
Roy framed the measure as a direct response to soaring housing costs that leave many families struggling, while foreign regimes allegedly snap up land and homes to undermine the nation from within.
Data reviewed by UMVA show that foreign ownership of U.S. land reached nearly 46 million acres, valued at more than $86 billion, with a sizable portion attributed to hostile actors. The proposed law could force the divestiture of up to 338,000 acres—potentially worth $1.1 billion—currently held by those adversaries.
Texas, Roy’s home state, tops the list for foreign land holdings, with an estimated 5.6 million acres owned by non‑Americans. If the act passes, 124,000 acres across 20 Texas counties could be reclaimed for American citizens.
In a related effort, Roy introduced the Measures Against Marxism’s Dangerous Adherents and Noxious Islamists (MAMDANI) Act, which would expand immigration enforcement to allow deportation, denaturalization, or denial of entry for anyone affiliated with socialist, communist, Chinese Communist Party, or extremist Islamist ideologies.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that both bills are being positioned as urgent national‑security measures, aiming to close loopholes that have let foreign adversaries embed themselves in American communities through real estate and unchecked immigration.
