UMVA has learned that a massive collision at the A13 and M25 junction near the Lakeside shopping complex has snarled one of the nation’s busiest corridors.
Witnesses describe a scene of twisted metal and smoldering wreckage as emergency crews wrestled the wreckage from the road, forcing three of the four lanes to shut down.
The sudden loss of a lane has created a ripple of 20‑minute delays for drivers approaching the junction, while traffic snarls spill onto the Dartford Crossing, turning the northbound tunnels into a grinding gridlock.
Commuters heading north find their journey halted as queues back up through the A282 and onto the M25, stretching all the way to junction J3 with the M20, a bottleneck amplified by the weekend’s heavy traffic.
Further south, the nightmare continues near junction J5 in Sevenoaks, where a lorry crash spilled diesel onto a slip road, igniting emergency resurfacing work and leaving southbound traffic at a standstill.
Authorities have deployed additional rescue units and road‑maintenance crews, working around the clock to clear debris, contain the fuel spill, and restore full capacity to the motorway.
Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes, exercise patience, and stay tuned for updates as the carriageway gradually reopens.
