A quiet Sunday morning in Soho shattered as a black vehicle careened into a crowd, leaving a security guard with life-altering injuries and an influencer fighting for her life.
Anoosh Chaichy, 56, was simply trying to help move an e-scooter when the impact threw him against a wall, a crimson pool quickly forming at his feet. He’d been standing near Klaudiaglam, known as Klaudia Zakrzewska, when the unthinkable happened.
Klaudia remains in critical condition, trapped beneath the vehicle in the immediate aftermath of the collision. Witnesses described a scene of chaos and horror as emergency services rushed to the scene.
The driver, Gabrielle Carrington – a former X Factor finalist known as RIELLEUK – has been charged with attempted murder, alongside a string of other serious offenses including grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, and drink driving.
During her court appearance, Carrington offered a startling gesture, making a heart sign towards the artist sketching the proceedings. This act occurred after reports surfaced of a heated argument between Carrington and Klaudia outside the Inca nightclub.
Investigators believe the incident wasn’t random. They are meticulously piecing together the events leading up to the crash, focusing on the dispute that preceded it.
Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area, emphasizing that even seemingly insignificant details could prove vital to the investigation. The area, despite the early hour, was still bustling with activity from nearby venues.
“Our thoughts are with those injured and their loved ones,” stated Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell. “We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward.”
The scene remains under investigation, a stark reminder of how quickly a night out can turn tragic and leave lasting scars on those involved and the community.
