Katie Price, a 48-year-old former glamour model, has come under criticism from animal rights activists for buying a new dog while her cat Doris remains missing.
Price, who has been in Dubai with her husband Lee Andrews, recently shared on Instagram that two of her Sphinx cats had gone missing or been 'stolen.' One of the cats, Eilleen, has since returned, but Doris remains unaccounted for.
In a shocking move, Price and her husband purchased a £2,000 puppy, a male Pomsky, while in Dubai, sparking outrage from animal rights groups.
Mimi Bekhechi, Senior Vice President of Peta UK, issued a statement condemning Price's actions, saying, 'Is there no low to which Katie Price will not stoop? While one of her cats, Doris, is reportedly still missing, instead of being worried sick and out searching for her, as any caring, responsible guardian would, she has flown to another country and acquired a new dog.'
Price has been busy jetting back and forth to Dubai after her husband was detained, leaving her pets at home with someone else.
On her Instagram story, Price posted a video of a Husky-style dog in a kennel with a sign saying 'sold' on the window.
This latest controversy comes on the heels of a long history of pet tragedies involving Price, who has lost at least eight animals in her care.
In 2020, a petition calling for her to be banned from owning pets garnered over 37,000 signatures, and a fresh petition was made in 2025.
Peta has previously offered £5,000 to Price in exchange for promising never to acquire another animal.
Price's husband Lee recently claimed that one of her cats had died, but the news was not confirmed by Price herself.
The couple's new puppy and missing cat have raised concerns about Price's ability to care for her pets.
Katie Price's pet history is a tragic one, with a string of fatalities including the loss of her horse, several dogs, and a kitten that died soon after birth.
