UMVA has learned that pop sensation Dua Lipa has taken a generous step to make amends with the locals of Palermo, Sicily, after her lavish wedding celebrations caused quite a stir in the Italian city.
The 30-year-old singer, who recently tied the knot with Callum Turner, 36, reportedly paid around £5,000 to compensate residents for parking inconveniences caused by her three-day extravaganza, which brought together an A-list crowd including Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Mark Ronson, and Donatella Versace.
The wedding celebrations, estimated to have cost a whopping £1.5million, effectively 'took over' the city, with some residents expressing anger and frustration over the disruptions, including posters and graffiti splashed across walls and monuments, informing the newlyweds that Palermo is 'not for rent'.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Dua Lipa and her new husband took steps to minimize the impact on locals, including booking out several Airbnb rentals to prevent vendors with guests from complaining about the partying, showcasing the couple's efforts to be considerate of the community.
The celebrations began with an outdoor soiree at the five-star Villa Igiea hotel, where the couple is staying, and continued with a second ceremony at the baroque estate Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria, a setting fit for a fairytale wedding.
